Egyptian Sugaring Wax

What is sugaring?

Sugaring is an age-old Egyptian form of hair removal that has been practiced with its basic ingredients for thousands of years. It uses a paste made of sugar, lemons and water to gently lift the hair from the follicle. Sugaring is an all natural eco-friendly way of removing unwanted hair that will give you lasting results.

How is Sugaring different than Wax?

Sugaring is different than traditional wax removal. The sugar paste is applied and formed against the skin pulling up the hairs. It is gentler than wax and causes less irritation to the skin. It's is a great exfoliator without the ingrown hairs of waxing and shaving. After a few sessions the hair becomes less dense and sparser growth.

What Kind of Reaction Does Sugaring Have?

Sugaring is all natural. Reactions are minimal. Some people will get a histamine reaction similar to waxing.  Usually it's less, and your skin isn't damaged.  It's the body's reaction to having the hair totally removed.  If you are concerned or have had this reaction in the past, taking an anti-histamine may alleviate this reaction.

Does Sugaring Hurt?

Everyone has a different threshold for pain. Sugaring is all natural and cool to the touch. It leaves the skin less irritated than traditional hot wax.  If you have concerns, taking an ibuprofen before hand can alleviate some discomfort.

How Long Should My Hair Be?

Hair can be extracted at a shorter length than waxing. Best results will happen with hair at least 1/8" in length, but can be removed starting at 1/16th". Stop shaving 7-10 days prior for best results.

How Long Does Sugaring Last?

Sugaring typically lasts longer than waxing. Hair growth has 3 cycles.  Usually on the first sugaring we will get the first, second, and part of the third hair growth cycles.  After getting sugared 2-3 times all three hair growth cycles start coming out at the same time.  If after the first appointment, you find stubble, it's usually the 3rd cycle poking out.  The first sugaring should last 2-3 weeks.  As you continue to get sugared, you will find that you can last 3-6 weeks between appointments.
